Where have you performed? We have provided background music for art show receptions and at local craft and historical festivals. We have performed at private parties. Visit our Calendar page for a current list of performances. We do not play for dances.
What is a musical reenactment group? We perform music that would have been heard in the late 18th and early 19th century. We perform in period costumes. We perform as background musicians giving your event a 19th century ambiance. We also give concerts of historical music and when possible provide a historical context for the tunes. We are not a bar band, a session band or anything else that is loud and raucous. Our music is sedate and melodic.
Where did you get the picture of the rose on your home page? Louise took the picture in our backyard.
How many breaks will you take? How long? When we play for a luncheon or reception we usually play straight through. When we play for an extended period we tend to organize it into 45 minute sets with 15 minute breaks in between.
What is your hourly fee? We charge a flat rate of $225 per hour with a one hour minimum for most venues. We do not charge separate overtime or set up fees. Make checks payable to Earth Harmony, LLC. Contact Ed Hetzler at(978) 568-9553 or use the Contact Band feature in the navigation menu at the top of the page. Because we book directly as artists, you save the agent/party-planner's fee!
Are there any extra costs not included in your hourly fee? We charge $0.36 for every mile we drive outside of the 01749 Zip Code within the Boston Metrowest area. If your event requires travel beyond the Boston Metrowest area, add travel, hotel and meal expenses. If formal dress is required, add 100% reimbursement for costuming expenses.
What is your payment schedule and cancellation policy? A 50% deposit is required to secure a date. The remainder is due on the day of performance. If Buyer cancels less than four weeks before the date of performance, Buyer shall forfeit the Deposit to Earth Harmony, LLC, as liquidated damages. In addition, if Buyer cancels less than two weeks before the date of performance, Buyer shall pay Earth Harmony, LLC, by the performance date, the full performance fee as liquidated damages. The obligation of October Rose to perform shall be excused by detention of personnel by sickness, accidents, riots, strikes, epidemics, acts of God, Force Majure or any other legitimate condition beyond the control of October Rose.
Do you have any special requirements? We provide our own sound system (Bose L1). We require an electrical outlet and sufficient space for our sound system and instruments. When outdoors we require a dry area sheltered from the weather. We require access to the site at least one hour prior to starting so that we can set up and do sound checks. We require a parking space close to where we will be playing.
What is Earth Harmony,LLC? Earth Harmony,LLC is the legal name of our business. We teach music and provide speech-language services in addition to performing. Rather than create separate business entities for everything we do we chose to include all of our activities under the Earth Harmony name.
