October Rose performs Old Time and Celtic fiddle Music, traditional folk ballads, and original songs. This is music from the 18th and 19th century.
We conduct educational programs of 19th century American folk music with historical commentary. The presentation is done in period costumes. It is suitable for schools, clubs, libraries, etc. Learn about the roots of American music in the 1800s. Our Bose L1 amplifier and speaker system provides clear rich sound with a minimal footprint.
October Rose is Louise Hetzler (vocals, guitar, dulcimer), Ed Hetzler (fiddle, mandolin, tenor banjo, guitar) and Amy Dearborn (fiddle and vocals). Louise and Ed have been performing together since 2001. Amy began playing with the group in 2007. Their heartfelt music involves and connects with audiences.
October Rose performs wherever live music is appropriate: schools, libraries, historical sites, parks, festivals, parties, receptions, and corporate events in the Boston Metro West / I-495 Corridor Area. Our music preserves the beauty and simplicity of another era.
We charge $225 per hour with a one hour minimum for most venues. A 50% deposit is required to reserve a date. Download a copy of our standard contract. Because we book directly as artists, you save the agent/party-planner's fee!
We charge $0.36 for every mile we drive outside of the 01749 Zip Code within the Boston Metrowest area. If your event requires travel beyond the Boston Metrowest area, add 100% reimbursement of our travel, hotel and meal expenses. If formal dress is required. add 100% reimbursement for costuming expenses.
